At Anchored Athletics we hire all of our team members based on personality and how much they care about our athlete’s success, if your sole focus is your own fitness and health then this won’t be a good fit. We can teach anyone how to coach movements but we can’t teach you how to care! We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with members of all ages and fitness levels, is a good role model, with an outgoing personality, self-motivated and reliable.
We have two different tracks to become a member of our team.
The first step to let us know you’re interested is to fill out our application form below!
If you have a background and experience coaching in fitness and health we would start off by doing an informal meeting to get to know you as a person which would be done with a member of management.
Following that initial meeting, we would do a formal interview to discuss your previous experience with coaching, why you want to make it a career and go over how Anchored Athletics runs, our expectations of a team member, how our compensation works and the path to success with us. This 2-3 interview process is designed to get to know you, what your values are and the priorities in your life.
Once we think you might be a good fit we will schedule three 30 minute personal training sessions with our members where we will interview the members afterward to find out how you did as a coach. We are looking for people who are not only knowledgeable in training but are also fun and engaging with our members.
If everything is good with the PT sessions we will do an abbreviated internship where you will be expected to assist in classes, coach portions of the intro, warm-up, ramp-up, workout, and cooldown until we are satisfied that you are at the standard we expect from our coaching staff.
This process is totally dependent on your level of commitment and personal schedule. At any point, we can decide to end the hiring process if we don’t feel you will be a good fit for our community and culture.
No experience, no problem!
The first step to becoming a coach with us is to fill out the application form below! We will periodically run an Advanced Theory Course which is the first step to becoming a Coach with us. Once you have completed the Advanced Theory Course (ATC) you may be invited to start the interview process to become a Coaching intern with us (doing the ATC is not a guarantee of an internship offer)
