FAVORITE MOVEMENT / EXERCISE: Push ups & wall balls. (Being that I wasn’t able to do these when I first started 9 months ago. I love the feeling of accomplishment every time I get one more!)
MOVEMENT YOU FIND MOST CHALLENGING: The overhead squat… Ouch. It just doesn’t feel natural!
FAVORITE HEALTHY MEAL: I love a good juicy chicken breast with salad and yams. But not just any salad… It has to be a full one with strawberries, cucumbers, walnuts, some kind of cheese, all the things!
FAVORITE NOT-SO HEALTHY MEAL: Muffins…. All you can eat muffins… okay; any sort of endless wheat filled carbs.
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN CROSSFIT ANCHORED ATHLETICS? I was tired of being inactive and out of shape. I have noticed a huge difference in my mental and physical health since I started and I couldn’t imagine my life without it.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT CROSSFIT ANCHORED ATHLETICS? I love the feeling I get when I walk in the door. It feels like home. So many beautiful smiling faces all there to support and grow with one another.
WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN IN YOUR BODY COMPOSITION, HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE SINCE STARTING CrossFit? I was starting to get impatient with results… But hard work DOES pay off.. Eventually. I have shed a few pounds and started to notice some muscle definition in my legs and shoulders which is incredibly satisfying. As for performance; that’s all in your head. Go hard or go home! :-p
TELL US ABOUT YOUR SPORTS AND FITNESS BACKGROUND: I have always enjoying watching live sports but was always to shy to join. So… This is the start!
WHAT IS YOUR SHORT TERM (3 Month goal)? Honestly… Just make it through the holidays. I am always continuing to work on my squats though.
WHAT IS YOUR LONG TERM (6-12 Month goal)? Fitness wise I would really like to get one strict chin up. Personal goal: too pass my Red Seal exam!
IF YOU COULD CREATE ANY WOD WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED? Oh boy… Probably something filled with things I dislike.. 20 burpees, 20 med ball cleans, 20 double-unders, 800m run; 4 rounds for time.
WHAT WOULD YOUR ADVICE BE TO SOMEONE WANTING TO START CrossFit BUT IS NERVOUS? Just DO IT!
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF OUTSIDE OF CROSSFIT ANCHORED ATHLETICS: Outside of the gym I am a full time chihuahua mom, part time mom and avid animal video YouTube watcher. That is about as exciting as my life gets!
