WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT CROSSFIT ANCHORED ATHLETICS? I really like working out with other people and learning new movements. It has also been a great venue for friendly competition
WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN IN YOUR BODY COMPOSITION, HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE SINCE STARTING CROSSFIT? Well my shirts and pants fit better in the waist and are tighter in the shoulders and quads. I haven’t been sick for a year. My back squat and bench press continue to go up, and I have gotten past the double body weight deadlift barrier. And my burpies have gotten faster!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR SPORTS AND FITNESS BACKGROUND: I have always been a Skier and Mountain Biker. Since 2010 I have been quite immersed in the Obstacle Course Racing and Trail Racing circuits
WHAT IS YOUR SHORT TERM (3 Month goal)? I need to learn to kip efficiently and progress that into musleups
WHAT IS YOUR LONG TERM (6-12 Month goal)? Get my front rack working and be able to string Double unders together. Those moves and I aren’t friends
IF YOU COULD CREATE ANY WOD WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED? Here is one that everybody will enjoy. 25 Burpie buy in(cause that’s a great warm up) 14,12,10,8,6,4,2,1 Bench press, Back squat, Deadlift. Guys try to add 20lbs each set and Ladies try for 10lbs. I call it 57 Heavy(i’m a car guy)
WHAT WOULD YOUR ADVICE BE TO SOMEONE WANTING TO START CrossFit BUT IS NERVOUS? Just show up, check your ego at the door and follow instruction. Everyone is super supportive. Once you find a class time that works, you will get to know people and its a workout party from there!
