The coaches and the other members I get to work out with
WHAT CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN IN YOUR BODY COMPOSITION, HEALTH AND PERFORMANCE SINCE STARTING CROSSFIT?
I’ve seen lots of changes, finally back under 200lbs and have gone back to a size 34 waist. I feel stronger and don’t have the back pain I used to have. The first time I ran the PARE I scored 3:31, the third time I ran it 18 months later I was down to 3:06.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR SPORTS AND FITNESS BACKGROUND:
I have joined gyms with the intentions of lifting weights but have never stuck with it until joining Anchored Athletics.
WHAT IS YOUR SHORT TERM (3 Month goal)?
To balance my studying and training with a program designed by Mitch.
WHAT IS YOUR LONG TERM (6-12 Month goal)?
To graduate from Depot and get settled into my new life with my family.
WHAT WOULD YOUR ADVICE BE TO SOMEONE WANTING TO START CrossFit BUT IS NERVOUS?
My advice would be to jump into it. Most of us were in their place at one time, worried that we wouldn’t be able to keep up or were intimidated by some of the movements. I’ve found that the members and the coaches are very motivating, supportive and don’t judge. Give it a month before you make your decision to quit, you will be surprised at how much better you will feel and how quickly you will see results.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF OUTSIDE OF CROSSFIT ANCHORED ATHLETICS:
I was raised in the valley. I am married to an amazing woman and have two amazing girls. I have spent time in the Military, I have run heavy equipment up north, been a volunteer fire fighter, and spent time in the RCMP Auxiliary program. I have finally reached my life long dream of been accepted to Depot and, when I graduate, starting a career with the RCMP.
