What do you enjoy most about training at Anchored Athletics?
The coaches and other members are super welcoming, friendly and supportive.
What Changes have you see in your body composition, health and performance since starting at Anchored Athletics?
I’ve lost about 25lbs, and am stronger than I ever thought I could be. I have more energy and make healthier food choices.
What Goals have you accomplished since starting training at Anchored Athletics
Weight loss, consistent attendance, and (occasional) double-unders! I continue to accomplish PR’s in varying weightlifting movements as well.
Tell us about your Sport / Fitness background:
I was a competitive rower throughout high-school, and was into running for a few years as well before having my daughter. I have completed a couple of half marathons, lots of 10km’s and been in the Island Race Series a few times too.
What is your short term goals (3 months)?
Well…I’m expecting again! So no heavy PR weightlifting goals for me in the near future. Maybe I’ll work on my pull-ups!
What is your long term goal (6-12 months)?
With a new little one on the way, I just want to continue with consistent attendance for a healthy, fit pregnancy. I love that everything can be modified with CrossFit so I can continue with classes, and always seem to feel better after a good workout.
What would your advice be to someone who is waiting to start training at CrossFit Anchored Athletics but is nervous?
Give it a try! I thought about it for far to long before coming in. I was nervous never having done weightlifting (outside of on my own at the gym), and was just generally intimidated by not being in great shape. CrossFit is for anyone and everyone, and CFAA is a great, supportive atmosphere for anyone looking to give it a shot.
Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of the gym:
My lovely 2.5 year old keeps me busy! I love camping with my family, working in my garden, and heading to the many beaches/parks we’re so lucky to have close by. In between my day job, I work for some freelance clients and am taking some distance education courses for a marketing certification.
