Krista started CrossFit in 2013. She had been a competitive dancer most of her life and when that ended she was looking for a sport that had a similar technical aspect to it, that she could do as a hobby.
Krista has a passion for coaching others and takes great pride in developing her skills. In her spare time, she loves training with the Hercules weightlifting team, sewing, and exploring the island with my family.
One of her personal goals is to qualify to compete in the masters division for weightlifting.

Kristin's love of fitness, health, and nutrition started at an early age. Growing up she was a provincial-level figure skater and played softball. She spent a lot of time coaching younger skaters and passing on her knowledge to them. After high school, she attended the University of British Columbia, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition.
After university, she focused on raising her two daughters, sharing her love of fitness with them, and volunteering as a softball coach and on the board of directors for her daughter's gymnastics club. She competed often as a runner, completing numerous 5km and 10km races, as well as ten half-marathons and three full marathons.
In 2015, she discovered CrossFit when her daughter took up the training, joining a few months after her daughter started. In August 2018, she took her CrossFit level 1 and became a trainer. Taking this course and becoming a trainer fit right into her passion for helping people achieve their goals. She always makes sure to remind people that with a positive attitude, they can do anything they set their mind to. She now competes in CrossFit and she absolutely loves it!

Paul initially started training with the CrossFit methodology to improve his everyday life and make hiking and outdoor activities more enjoyable. Before CrossFit Paul was a competitive swimmer specializing in sprint events and played water polo.

CrossFit has been a part of Laura’s life off and on for many years and was a member at Anchored back in 2015. After moving up north and taking a brief hiatus, she found her way back to a CrossFit affiliate as a way to meet new people and re-focus on her health and fitness. After moving back to the Cowichan Valley in 2022, she was excited to be back at Anchored and joined the team of coaches in February of 2023.
She has a background in rowing, and running races of varying lengths before finding CrossFit. She enjoys getting outside and exploring the many amazing trails the Cowichan Valley has to offer.
Laura’s goal as a coach is to help members be the healthiest, happiest version of themselves, and have fun in doing so. She always welcomes members with a smile, to a class environment that is incredibly supportive of each other, and open to all walks of life and abilities.

Marc began his journey in hockey at the age of 2 and has always considered it his first love. Devoting a significant part of his life to the sport, he played four years in the Western Hockey League and four seasons as a student-athlete on the Thunderbirds Men’s Ice Hockey team at the University of British Columbia.
After completing his degree at UBC, Marc continued his hockey career by playing overseas in Germany for the Passau Blackhawks. Throughout his time in the sport, he not only honed his on-ice skills but also developed valuable coaching abilities through activities like dryland training and gym sessions.
During the off-seasons of his playing days, Marc dedicated time to teaching and coaching hockey to the next generation. Now, his focus is on longevity, viewing CrossFit as a tool for both himself and his athletes to achieve their best versions well into the future.
In his leisure time, Marc enjoys golfing with his wife Mika, and going on hikes with their two dogs, Bauer and Gordie. Residing in Maple Bay, Marc is known for cooking meals for his family, and their home is affectionately referred to as "Uncle Marc’s Pizza and Pancake House."
